Nursery School and Preparatory
The "Pietro Della Valle" Nursery School traditionally caters for children from diverse countries and endeavours to enhance the resources deriving from the contributions of different cultures, with the prospect of co-operation between people and respect for ethnic origins. The Nursery School follows a bilingual project articulated in two classes comprising groups of children of different ages:
In each class there is an Italian and English teacher plus two assistant-teachers with a variety of educational functions. Apart from the two assistants there are two auxiliary teachers with the responsibility of helping the younger children with all their needs.

The methodology of educational activities must consider the harmonious development of an individual by adapting educational means even through the use of individual teaching. The Prep. School programme, in general, considers the following objectives:
Social, emotional and affective area (ability to socialize in spontaneous and organized games), motorial education and a sense of personal identity in order to introduce children to written and spoken language; tap mathematical and scientific ability, musical and artistic education in general and civics. The academic tests used propose a gradual and enjoyable educational programme, aimed at assisting the pupils attending the last year of nursery school to acquire the abilities and competences useful for a positive entrance to the first class of primary school.
